Olympic Gold Medalist Joins Inaugural Cycling Event

va09_ross_Rebagliati_email(Vancouver, March 31) - Olympic Gold medalist Ross Rebagliati has registered for The Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting BC Cancer Foundation. 
“The Ride to Conquer Cancer is an amazing chance to do something huge in the fight against cancer in BC,” said Rebagliati. “Cancer is a disease which affects so many, therefore, I’m thrilled to be presented with the opportunity to make a real impact by participating on Team Merckx. The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation will raise money for research and enhancements to patient care at the BC Cancer Agency. Riders will begin a two-day journey from Vancouver to Seattle on the morning of Saturday, June 20, 2009, with a moving Opening Ceremony in Vancouver, before embarking on the first leg of the journey.  After camping overnight, the ride will end on Sunday afternoon in Seattle.

The BC Cancer Foundation, established in 1935, raises funds to support research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority that provides a province-wide, population-based cancer control program for everyone in B.C. and the Yukon.
